Christine Wilson, LMT 2437

Christine Wilson, Master of Science in Education, has been a licensed massage therapist (#2437) over 20 years.  She attended the Atlanta School of Massage.  She has studied and obtained certification in Trigger Point Therapy over 20 years ago.  Christine has lived in Lexington for 16 years and is married to Dave and has two children, Sydney and Clark.

Nagging pain on the head, back of neck, shoulders, on back or down arms is a lot of the time caused by trigger points.  Trigger points are hypershortened muscles that refer pain to other parts of the body. Trigger Points were mapped out in the 1940's by Janet Travell, MD (1901-1997).  Dr. Travell trained as a cardiologist and pharmacologist.  A journey with her own shoulder pain led her to explore myofascial pain treatment with her heart patients.  She published Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction:  The Trigger Point Manual, in 1983.

It is from this manual and continuing education classes,  Christine has learned how to relieve trigger point referral pain in her clients.
